*Maximum estimated reduction in the number of breakdowns due to under-inflated tyres compared to their recommended nominal pressure thanks to daily monitoring of pressure measurements combined with appropriate maintenance operations. Internal MICHELIN study carried out on 7.000 vehicles in Europe equipped with the MICHELIN Effitrailer solution, on a panel of 340.000 pressure measurements analysed.
**Simulation made on April 4th, 2023 based on VECTO (Vehicle Energy Consumption Calculation Tool) methodology comparing Convoy #1 (fitted with MICHELIN X® LINE Energy Z2 & D2 in 315/70 R22.5 on the tractor unit associated with MICHELIN X® LINE Energy T in 385/55R22.5 for Trailer axles) with Convoy #2 (fitted with MICHELIN X® MULTI Z & D in 315/70 R22.5 on the tractor unit associated with MICHELIN X® MULTI T2 in 385/55R22.5 for Trailer axles), for a 100% Long Haul usage with a total mass of 29 tons (tractor unit + trailer + load).
*MICHELIN’s internal estimate, carried out in 2022 and calculated using a fuel economy simulation based on the following method: comparison of the fuel consumption of a convoy equipped with new tyres at the recommended nominal pressure with that of a convoy equipped with new tyres under-pressurised by 30% compared to the recommended nominal pressure under identical driving conditions (climatic conditions, road conditions and driver behaviour). The two convoys are equipped with MICHELIN X® MULTI Z & D 315/70 R22.5 on the tractor and MICHELIN X® MULTI T2 385/55R22.5 on the trailer axles for 100% long distance use with a total convoy weight of 40 tons (tractor + trailer + load) and a reference fuel consumption of 32.42 l/100.
*Reduce fuel consumption by up to 4% with MICHELIN Connected Fleet* *Minimum fuel consumption reduction realised in each of the 11 European MICHELIN Connected Fleet customers, during normal transport operations across their entyre truck fleet in the period 2019 to 2023.
** Internal MICHELIN calculated gain through simulation of fuel savings linked to tyre wear and carried out in 2022 on the basis of the following method: comparison of the fuel consumption of a convoy equipped with new tyres with that of a convoy equipped with worn tyres (at the minimum legal tread depth, i.e. 1.6mm) under identical driving conditions (climatic conditions, road conditions and driver behaviour). The two convoys were fitted with MICHELIN X® MULTI Z & D 315/70 R22.5 on the tractor and MICHELIN X® MULTI T2 385/55R22.5 on the trailer in 100% long distance usage with a total convoy weight of 40 tons (tractor + trailer + load), combined with a reference fuel consumption of 32.42 l/100. The fuel consumption gain observed for 1 mm of rubber additionally used is 0.8%, leading to a 1% gain in fuel consumption extending the used profile depth with 1.3 mm.
***Maximum mm gain measured thanks to regular use of MICHELIN QuickScan in association with the necessary maintenance operations. Comparative measurements, before and after installation of MICHELIN QuickScan technology, carried out on 6806 tyres removed between 2020 and 2022 at 5 sites of 6 French hauliers equipped with MICHELIN QuickScan technology.
