FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR TYRE CRANE
The main sizes regarding the mobile crane tyres are :
For All Terrain crane: 445/95R25, 525/80R25, and 385/95R25
For Mobile Tower crane: 385/95R25 and 445/75R22,5
For Rough Terrain crane: 29.5R25, 23.5-R25 and 385/95R25
The crane tyre weight varies according to tyre size, from around 100kg for the smallest tire to almost 600kg for the largest.
The right pressure is depending on the crane tyre size:
- 445/95R25, 385/95R25 and 445/75R22,5 is 9 Bar or 131 PSI
- 525/80R25 is at 7 Bar or 102 PSI
For the others one, please refer to each product sheet. The right pressure must be taken always at cold.
Check cold pressure regularly and adjust accordingly. A TPMS or a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System can help you to monitor that. Rotate tyres every 10,000KM or every year, left/right, axle to axle, to optimize potential irregular wear and carry out regular vehicle maintenance as recommended by manufacturer.
